The Short Version
We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information. No cookies. No analytics. No trackers. No advertising. No accounts. No forms. We practice what we preach.
What This Site Does Not Do
- No cookies. This website does not set any cookies of its own.
- No analytics or trackers. We do not use Google Analytics or any other visitor analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or advertising technology.
- No data collection. There are no contact forms, sign-ups, accounts, comments, or newsletters. We have no database of visitors because we collect nothing to put in one.
- No selling or sharing of data. We have no visitor data to sell or share, and we never will.
The Limited Data That Exists Anyway
Web hosting logs
Like virtually every website, this site is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers may automatically log technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and operational purposes. We do not use these logs to identify visitors. Retention is governed by the hosting provider's own policies.
Embedded YouTube videos
This site embeds two YouTube videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which is designed not to set tracking cookies unless you play a video. Video thumbnail images are loaded from YouTube's image servers when the page loads, which means your browser contacts Google's servers (disclosing your IP address to Google, as happens when loading any image from any third-party server). If you click play, YouTube/Google may collect data about your viewing in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. If you prefer not to contact Google's servers at all, don't play the videos — every fact they contain is also documented in text on this site with sources.
The "Email City Council" buttons open your own email application addressed to City of Wylie officials. Your message goes directly from you to them — it never passes through us, and we never see it. Note that email sent to Texas government officials may become a public record under the Texas Public Information Act.
If you choose to email us at [email protected], we will see your email address and message. We use it only to respond to you, we do not add you to any list, and we do not share it with anyone.
External links
This site links to news organizations, government records, courts, and advocacy projects (such as DeFlock.me and the Atlas of Surveillance). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Links open in a new tab and are marked with rel="noopener noreferrer" so your browsing on this site is not passed along in referrer data where the browser honors that setting.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the site collects no personal information at all, no special action is required under COPPA.
Your Rights
Under laws such as the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, residents may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a site holds about them. Our answer to any such request will almost always be the same: we hold no personal data about you. If you believe otherwise, or have any privacy question, email [email protected] and we will respond.
Changes to This Policy
If our practices ever change (for example, if we add a petition form), we will update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect. We will never adopt practices that contradict the purpose of this site.
